The December issue of «Pharmacology International», the newsletter of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR), is now available for download at http://www.iuphar.org/pdf/Pharmacology_International_2014_December.pdf. The lead article describes the 17th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology held in Cape Town, South Africa last July, offering scientific highlights and a collection of photographs capturing the participants as they experienced the many activities. The IUPHAR Young Investigator Award winners are featured as well.
We introduce the newly elected officers of the various IUPHAR sections, division and committees, who will lead us from Cape Town (2014) to Kyoto (2018). Other contributions include meeting and workshop reports, announcements from IUPHAR member societies, and a call for award nominations by the International Council for Laboratory Animal Science.
